Pregnancy Session – taking it outside!

Seattle Area Pregnancy Photography

Weather threatened as I took the Bainbridge Island ferry across to shoot a pregnancy session of a woman whose wedding I shot a couple of years ago, as well doing some commercial work for their business.  I was so excited to get to be the one to capture their pregnancy – especially since we got to do it in and around their gorgeous home on Bainbridge….amidst lovely gardens, a small orchard, and their very unique home.

Even though the forecast was predicting rain and gloom, we decided to go for it anyway. The house alone offered plenty of opportunity, but just as we prepared to start the session, the rain let up – and although it wasn’t clear skies, it was just the window we needed to get out into the orchard and garden. I was so excited!

Now, mind you this is just a sampling – she was generous enough to let me post some of the images, which included a few of my very favs, but let me just say, she was a such a natural, gorgeous vision of the enduring miracle of creating life,  out there in the elements….wow. Some of the images (like the 2nd one shown here) were so much like a painting visually that I had a little fun and did something I never do….I added a light oil painting effect to it. I rather like it!

That thereby beauty’s rose might never die…”
